At CAR he has worked on various aspects of the Cambridge Domestic Energy Model and the UK Housing Energy Fact File.
Willy Aspinall

A consulting Chartered Scientist and part-time Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol. His principal professional interests are in Earth Sciences, the probabilistic assessment of hazards and risks, and the formalised use of expert judgement in decision-making for low probability / high consequence events.
Nick Baker

Physicist and specialist in environmental design and energy conservation in buildings. He has published widely on environmental issues including daylighting, thermal comfort and energy modelling.

- A business consultant, strategist and manager with wide-ranging experience of project conception, development and successful execution. Expert in evaluating and improving office productivity. He founded and chairs the Office Productivity Network. He is working on simulating space, activity and utilisation for flexible working office occupiers.
Peter Baxter

An authority on the health effects of volcanic eruptions and other disasters. He is Consultant in Occupational Health at the University of Cambridge Institute of Public Health.

Over 20 years senior management and practical experience in the design, procurement, project management and delivery of affordable housing and several years experience in the delivery of strategic sustainability advice. More recently he has been a leading sustainability consultant working on a range of built environment and corporate projects.

GIS and Remote Sensing specialist. He has experience using a range of satellite and GIS datasets and has conducted GPS ground survey work in China and Thailand. Currently developing methods that allow post-disaster recovery to be monitored and evaluated. Holder of an EPSRC PhD studentship at the Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge.
- Vicky Cheng

Research Associate at the University of Cambridge Department of Architecture. Her research focuses on urban environmental performance relating to urban form, building energy and outdoor thermal comfort. Together with CAR colleagues, she recently developed a domestic energy model for the Scottish Government to evaluate the CO2 and cost impacts of various interventions in the housing stock.

An architect in private practice in Shanghai and London, his specialization is in design methodology and aesthetics. David did his doctorate at the University of Cambridge in the late 1980s. He has taught at the National University of Singapore and published numerous papers in aesthetic journals. He works on sustainability in aesthetics relating to intelligent commonsense and environmental sensibility.

Architect and Head of the Department of Creative Technologies at Huddersfield University. He has written three books on Edwardian architecture and has contributed to CAR Conservation Plans for 19th and 20th century buildings.

Architect with wide experience of collaborative teamwork in teaching, large architectural projects and design review panels. Director at Allies and Morrison Architects 1996-2007, leading teams for projects like the Festival Hall refurbishment (£100m). Director of Design Review at CABE 2007-11, participating in over 1,000 reviews, including special panels for BSF schools, the 2012 Olympics and Eco-towns. Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge.

An experienced structural technician with twenty years in the international building engineering consultancy field. He has worked for leading consultants Arup and Scott Wilson on a variety of high quality education, healthcare, commercial, retail, residential, telecommunications and community projects.

A land economist with extensive public and private sector experience of housing, mixed-use development and neighbourhood regeneration, including Head of the Government’s Millennium Communities programme. He has played a significant role in the conceptual development of spatial planning, and has been a champion of citizen-led housing solutions. He is Founder/Director of C2O futureplanners.

An economist with expertise in financial modelling, investment appraisal, and whole life costing. He has provided consultancy on a wide range of complex, multi-stakeholder construction projects. He is working on the CILECCTA project, a European Union sponsored research project to develop a suite of software to enable the assessment of sustainable options and decision support tools.

Architect and structural engineer with expertise in earthquake engineering, seismic risk modelling and evaluation, and seismic risk reduction techniques. He is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Naples, and Director of CAR Projetti SRL in Naples, Italy.
