MaSC: Managing Sustainable Companies

Our consultants take companies through the MaSC process to plan the integration of sustainable business practices.
Our consultants take companies through the MaSC process to plan the integration of sustainable business practices.

MaSC is a tool that helps companies to manage the introduction of sustainable working practices. The tool was developed by leading UK sustainability experts and funded by the DTI under its Partners in Innovation Scheme, Building Better Business. It is a highly effective process that allows organisations to benchmark their initial position and then measure the progress they have made.

Using MaSC

MaSC can be used by any type of business and any size, from small and medium-sized organisations up to international corporations. Typically, an organization sets up a working party to investigate the implications of moving to more sustainable ways of working. The MaSC process then takes this group through a series of activities that enable them to

  • gauge their company’s current position
  • identify what needs to be done
  • pinpoint the main drivers that can be exploited
  • develop an action plan
  • rehearse strategies to implement these plans
  • set and review targets for continuous improvement.

As well as using MaSC to introduce sustainable policies, companies can use it to improve existing practices and work towards becoming exemplars of best practice.

MaSC Consultancy

Many companies find it more effective to bring in outside expertise to help them identify the changes that need to be made and to plan the gradual integration of sustainable business practices. Our consultants work closely with clients helping them to plan and oversee the introduction of change. For further information please contact [Stephen Platt].
