Carbon Footprinting
Building owners and occupiers are increasingly concerned about their CO2 emissions and their contribution to climate change. Over the past 20 years, CAR has been developing an understanding of buildings that has kept us in the forefront of best environmental practice, involving low energy design, whole life cost analysis, post occupancy studies and information packs for building users.
CAR is able to bring these aspects of building design and use together to offer audits for carbon footprints, Building Energy Certificates or practical support in reducing CO2 emissions from new and existing buildings.
CAR Director Andy Brown was instrumental in founding the local environmental group [Cambridge Carbon Footprint] and CAR provides continuing support with office space and services. Cambridge Carbon Footprint works with individuals and small groups to explain their contribution to climate change and investigate ways that they can reduce it.
Cambridge Carbon Footprint and CAR, together with the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum promote the [Akashi Project], funded by DEFRA, to promote climate change in the black and ethnic community in Cambridge and the region.
Cambridge Carbon Footprint and CAR have collaborated on projects to provide both technical solutions for buildings and support to tenants and residents in understanding the relationship between climate change, the built environment and their own actions.
