Robin Standring has worked in the fields of archaeology and geography for twelve years since studying at the University of Wales. He has experience as a researcher and consultant and in recent years has worked on the applications of archival data for risk management projects.
He joined CAR in 1999 and became a director in 2002, managing the unexploded ordnance data services at CAR. Since 2004 he has also worked as a Project Manager for the Cambridge Archaeological Unit, University of Cambridge.
His recent projects include risk mapping of the Province of Trento, Italy, for unexploded ordnance, and major ecological studies on behalf of the European Union and the Natural Environment Research Council. He also contributes to heritage-related projects and conservation plans.
